About Us

Cristina Capri

Growing up in Milan, the cultural scene was part of the day-to-day life! My interest in art and design has characterize all my life and my Italian Flair is always present in my concept work , either in residential design or in commercial project.

I qualified as a quantity and Land Surveyor in Padua and as an Architect with a Master in Conservation of Heritage Buildings in Venice.

In Italy, I was initially involved in the renovation of many houses and historical buildings and I then moved to more contemporary residential and retail projects

Functionality and efficiency are what I aim to achieve in any projects.

After few years, relocating to South Africa , as Architect of Interiors, I specialized in Office and Space Planning, designing the workspace for international companies.

I founded Italdesign Architect and the company was involved in the design, renovation and remodelling of beautiful homes, functional showrooms, efficient offices and trendy shops and restaurants.

While in South Africa I also qualified as a High Court Translator and opened Cristina Capri Translations and Interpreting Service , with accreditation from the local Italian General Consulate and Ambassy.

I worked as a tutor al Dante Alighieri in Johannesburg teaching Italian Language.

10 years ago I moved to New Zealand and since then, I have been sharing my expertise of many years of highly rewarding work.

As an architect, I take great enthusiasm into creating and turning into reality my client’s dream home, or simply advising on the issues they might encounter during their DIY projects such as:

  • the project management of a new work
  • renovating or re-styling an existing home
  • creating colour schemes.
  • landscape design.
  • Kitchen and bathroom design
  • the design of customized furniture

I have been a University Tutor and I am currently involved in running several short courses and workshops.

The aim of these short courses is to introduce students to the practical elements of Interior Design.

Very enjoyable and hands-on for those wanting to:

  • Enhance their own space.
  • Re-modelling their home
  • Buying their first home or investing in properties
  • Further their studies in this discipline

I continue my research for the most updated solutions in space and office design addressing the well-being in the workplace while achieving maximum efficiency and productivity.

I am proudly a member of National Association Women In Construction.

I am actively involved in promoting the Italian culture and language and I currently offer translations and interpreting service.

I run language courses at Parnell Trust and privately on the North Shore.

My most popular short course, Italian Great Artists, Italian Architecture and Travelling in Italy, are currently offered in various centre.

For the discerning travellers I offer customized itineraries based on individual interest and budget.
